The Bell Tower Plaza in Nan'an forms a triangular relationship with Chaotianmen and Jiangbeizui at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers, making it one of Chongqing's premier landmarks. The redevelopment design of the plaza and the surrounding area aims to establish a new city landmark for Chongqing, creating a strong presence alongside Chaotianmen and Jiangbeizui to enhance the city's image.
"The Panorama of Rivers and Mountains," created by Wang Ximeng during the Song Dynasty, is currently housed in the Palace Museum. It vividly portrays continuous mountain ranges, vast rivers and lakes, with pavilions, villages, bridges, and activities such as fishing, sailing, and traveling intricately depicted in the landscape. The painting is rich in detail, with a grand atmosphere, and has been praised for its expression of the majestic beauty of nature. It is regarded as one of China's "Top Ten Masterpieces."
The plaza's paving design abstracts the imagery of "The Panorama of Rivers and Mountains," offering a visual experience where visitors can appreciate the mountainous cityscape and imagine the vast beauty of the Yangtze River.
南岸钟楼广场与朝天门、江北嘴在长江与嘉陵江汇合口形成三角关系，是重庆市的第一名片区域。钟楼广场及沿岸的改造设计着眼于打造重庆新地标。做到与朝天门、江北嘴三足鼎立，交相辉映一步提升城市形象。“千里江山图”：宋朝王希孟所作，现藏故宫博物院。描绘了连绵的群山冈峦和浩淼的江河湖水，于山岭、坡岸、水际中布置、点缀亭台楼阁、茅居村舍，水磨长桥及捕鱼、驶船、行旅、飞鸟等，描绘精细，意态生动。景物繁多，气象万千，构图于疏密之中讲求变化，气势连贯，以披麻与斧劈皴相合，表现山石的肌理脉络和明暗变化。作品意境雄浑壮阔，气势恢宏，充分表现了自然山水的秀丽壮美。被称为" 中国十大传世名画" 之一。
平台铺装抽象提炼“千里江山图”意像，于此观览山城江山美景，浮想长江千里画卷。
